Obama vs. Romney: Birth Control

So I read a post of one of the people I follow on Tumblr. Obama vs. Romney. It was mainly about the fact that right before elections Obama was able to pass to serious bills and that it was rather convenient for him since elections were coming up.  I’m going to be honest here.  I don’t know everything I should about politics, just because it just really really confuses me sometimes.. but I do know there is a lot that goes into passing a bill and making a new law.  A bill must pass both houses of Congress by a majority vote.  This got me looking into issues that both candidates are for and against, and many that would affect me.
Birth Control is one of them.
I think it is my right and the right for all women to be able to choose when or when not we want to have families.
Yes, this does go in two different ways. The fact is that there are children these days having babies. Parents cannot have total control over their children’s sex lives, unless they don’t let them do anything, which teens do find around.  And though I personally do not believe in sex until marriage, the rest of the world does not hold the same belief.  It bothers me to know that preteens and young teenagers should be having sex, but it is happening.  Instead of wanting to get rid of birth control all together, why not make it available for young girls to take. It would knock down the number of teen pregnancies.  Not only that, but we don’t live in a world where everything is sunshine and rainbows and people are all good.  It is tragic and horrid to think about, but rape does exist and it has for a long time.  Any girl is at risk and though the experience would be traumatizing, at least the risk of getting pregnant from such an incident would be low.  Birth control is very helpful and can benefit a lot of girls, even if they are not sexually active.  Another thing is, Planned Parenthood is a major thing in many people’s lives.  I know it’s going to be in mine.  Let’s say I get married young and my husband and I are still in school.  Yes, we would love to be blessed with children, but when there is not a lot of money, or a stable home or economic situation, then we can’t bring a child into the world.  And I’m not going to postpone my marriage.  Birth control doesn’t always mean that women don’t want kids, it means that they are waiting for the right time.  And yes, birth control does have negative effects in the long run with fertility, but we can always research better methods of birth control so as to not run into them.
