I really believe that one of Obama’s quotes sums it up:
“They drove our economy into a ditch. And we got in there, and put on our boots, and we pushed and we shoved, and we were sweatin’, and these guys [the Republicans] were standing, watching us, sippin’ on a slurpee. And they’re pointing at us, saying, “How come you’re not pushing harder? How come you’re not pushing faster?” And then when we finally got the car up, it’s got a few dings and a few dents, it’s got some mud on it, we’re gonna have to do some work on it. They point to everybody and say: “Look what these guys did to your car!” After we got it out of the ditch! And then they have the nerve to ask for the keys back!”
I’m 17 years old, and I believe that Obama has not fixed the economy. No, he hasn't brought it back even close to what it was. But he got it out of the ditch, and really, that’s all I ask from a president, being soon to go into college. He’s added jobs that I’m going to need to support myself in the future, he’s given me opportunities I probably never would have had under McCain or even Romney. My parents vote for my future, not their present. Please vote according to your beliefs, but consider this: Obama has done so much work for us, for me and my peers’ future, that he deserves every parents’ vote.
More reasons to vote for Obama:
1. Abortion: Barack Obama firmly supports a woman's right to choose. Mitt Romney supports a federal ban on abortion. Point Obama.
2. Education: Obama and Romney are both against the teaching of creationism in schools. Obama believes in age appropriate and comprehensive sex education. Obama supports higher wages for educators. Romney believes small class sizes are a ploy by teachers' unions to get more money. Three points Obama, one point Romney.
